Pulmonary Conditions, Treatments & Services

The respiratory system is essential for sustaining life, but it can be affected by various conditions that may compromise breathing and overall well-being. We understand the impact that respiratory issues can have on your daily life. That’s why we’re here to provide specialized care for individuals experiencing:

Asthma

Asthma is a chronic condition characterized by inflammation of the airways, leading to symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, especially at night or early in the morning. If you’re experiencing frequent episodes of these symptoms, it may be time to schedule an appointment.

Bronchiectasis

Bronchiectasis is a condition where the tubes in your lungs, called bronchial tubes, get wider than they should be. This makes it hard for you to breathe normally. You might have a cough that lasts a long time and produces thick, stinky mucus. You could also get sick more often with respiratory infections like colds. Sometimes, you might feel like you can’t catch your breath easily.

Chronic Bronchitis

Chronic bronchitis is a kind of lung problem called COPD. It happens when the tubes in your lungs get swollen. This swelling can cause you to cough a lot, especially with mucus. You might also have trouble breathing, feel tightness in your chest, or get tired easily.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

COPD is a lung disease that gets worse over time. It can cause things like ongoing coughing, trouble breathing, wheezing, and feeling like your chest is tight. If you’ve smoked before or been around things that can hurt your lungs and you’re having these problems, our team can help manage your condition and improve your quality of life.

Emphysema

Emphysema is a kind of COPD, which means it affects how well you can breathe. It happens when the little air sacs in your lungs get damaged. When this happens, you might have trouble catching your breath, cough a lot, wheeze, or feel tightness in your chest. If you find it hard to breathe, especially when you’re doing something active, it’s important to seek medical care.

Lung Cancer

Lung cancer can present with symptoms such as persistent cough, coughing up blood, chest pain, shortness of breath, unexplained weight loss, and fatigue.

Pleural Effusion

Pleural effusion happens when fluid collects between the layers around your lungs, making it hard to breathe. You might feel chest pain, have trouble catching your breath, cough, or find it tough to lie down comfortably.

Pneumonia

Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs that can cause symptoms such as cough, fever, chills, chest pain, shortness of breath, and fatigue.

Pulmonary Embolism

Pulmonary embolism occurs when a blood clot travels to the lungs, leading to symptoms such as sudden onset of shortness of breath, chest pain, rapid heart rate, coughing up blood, and dizziness or fainting. If you’re experiencing these symptoms, it’s crucial to seek emergency medical care.

Pulmonary Fibrosis

Pulmonary fibrosis is a progressive lung disease characterized by scarring of the lung tissue, leading to symptoms such as shortness of breath, dry cough, fatigue, unexplained weight loss, and clubbing of the fingers or toes. Our team can provide comprehensive care to slow disease progression and improve your quality of life.

Pulmonary Hypertension

Pulmonary hypertension is a type of high blood pressure that affects the arteries in the lungs, leading to symptoms such as shortness of breath, fatigue, chest pain, dizziness or fainting, and swelling in the ankles, legs, or abdomen.

Respiratory Failure

Respiratory failure occurs when the lungs cannot provide adequate oxygen to the body or remove carbon dioxide, leading to symptoms such as shortness of breath, rapid breathing, confusion, fatigue, and cyanosis (bluish discoloration of the skin). If you’re experiencing these symptoms, it’s crucial to seek emergency medical care.

If you are looking for a place with 5 star treatment - look no further! From the first visit with Dr. Formanek and his team, to the x-ray and MRI with the Radiology team, a thorough explanation about what needed to be fixed and how it would happen, an absolutely fantastic surgical experience which left me feeling like a VIP customer, to the excellent follow-up appointment, and finally physical therapy to help with the final healing process. All of this, and I never left home. Why go anywhere else - when you can have all of this in one location and some of the best customer service I have ever experienced!
