New Family Medicine Physician Joining HTPC

Madison County Health Care System is excited to welcome Zachary Grossmann, MD, to our team. Dr. Grossmann will begin seeing patients September 15 and is welcoming new patients of all ages.

For Dr. Grossmann, family medicine is about more than treating an illness or checking a box at an annual visit. It’s about getting to know the person sitting across from him, listening to what matters to them and working together to make decisions about their health.

He describes his approach as honest, thoughtful and collaborative. Dr. Grossmann wants his patients to understand their options, ask questions and feel comfortable being part of the decision-making process.

“I see the patient-provider relationship as a team,” Dr. Grossmann said. “My job is to listen, help patients understand what’s going on and give them the information and recommendations they need to make the best decision for themselves.”

Dr. Grossmann earned his undergraduate degree from Creighton University and his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He completed his family medicine residency at Wesley Family Medicine in Wichita, Kansas, and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

As a family medicine physician, he will care for patients throughout all stages of life, from children to older adults. His practice will include preventive and routine care, treatment of illnesses and injuries, and ongoing management of chronic health conditions.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Grossmann enjoys spending time with his wife, Mary, and their daughter, Violet. He likes traveling, cooking, rock climbing and playing complex board games, and he keeps a saltwater aquarium at home. He has also participated in two mission trips to Jamaica.

Dr. Grossmann is looking forward to becoming part of the MCHCS team and getting to know the patients and families he will serve.

Dr. Grossmann begins seeing patients September 15 at the Health Trust Physicians Clinic located at 300 W Hutchings St., Winterset, IA 50273.
