MCHCS Continues to Expand Access to Mental Health Services

Madison County Health Care System is pleased to announce the expansion of its specialty care services with the addition of Mental Health Counseling, delivered by Erin Knauer, MSW, LISW of Silver Lining Counseling. She will see patients at Madison County Memorial Hospital every Wednesday on the 1st floor by our Surgery Department. Appointments can be scheduled by calling or texting (641) 932-6567.

Erin is a highly experienced, compassionate mental health professional offering evidence-based counseling for adolescents, adults, and seniors. She has over 10 years of experience in helping clients navigate complex emotions and life challenges, including:

  • Anxiety, depression, and mood disorders
  • Chronic pain and chronic illness
  • Grief, loss, and bereavement
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Life transitions (divorce, pregnancy, postpartum, end-of-life concerns)
  • Relationship and family conflicts
  • Women’s issues, body positivity, and self-esteem
  • Behavioral issues and ADHD
  • Dual diagnosis and substance use counseling
  • Coping with stress, sleep, and insomnia
  • Recovery from domestic violence and abuse

Patients will benefit from a variety of advanced therapeutic techniques, such as:

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
