Performs nursing services in the Emergency Room within the parameters of his/her preparation including, but not limited to, evaluating patient needs; preparing emergency room patient record; patient assessment and triage; emergency room procedures; and documenting patient interactions in accordance with professional nursing standards and Hospital policies.
Weekend Package Night Shift: 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
Full Time/72 hours per pay period

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure/Certification
• Current RN license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa.
• Certification in BCLS and ACLS, or renewal at first available course offering.
• Completion of the TNCC course within 1 year.
Previous Work Experience
• Previous experience in an acute care facility in an emergency or intensive care setting preferred.
Skills
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English with people from diverse professional, educational and lifestyle backgrounds both orally and in writing.
• Ability to read and understand/follow written and verbal directions.
• Must be able to direct the work of others while personally handling multiple tasks in a variety of situations.
• Requires organizational and self motivational skills in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks.
• Must demonstrate ability to utilize effective decision-making and problem solving techniques.
• Ability to work independently and interdependently with the health care team and community resources.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations and focused amid interruptions in a potentially fast paced environment
