Volunteer Marge Petersen Recognized for 500 Hours of Service
Volunteer Coordinator Connie Manny (L) awards Marge Petersen (R) with pin recognizing 500 hours of service.

Marge Petersen was recently recognized for her service to Madison County Health Care System for surpassing 500 hours of volunteer time. Marge has worked a total of 507.5 hours from January 2016 to January 2018, becoming the second volunteer to reach the “500 hour goal” of the 1,000 Hour Club.  For every 500 hours worked, the volunteer receives a recognition pin and at 1,000 hours has their name added to a plaque located on the lower level of the hospital.

Anne E. Nielson is the only other volunteer to date to have accomplished the 1,000 hours of service to the volunteer program since tracking for the 1,000 Hour Club began.

Volunteers play a very important role at Madison County Memorial Hospital by keeping the cafeteria and Gift Box gift shop running smoothly, along with assisting with other projects as needed. Their dedication allows us to better serve the health care needs of the community and they deserve our sincere gratitude.
