New COVID-19 Patient Screening Protocol

Due to the identification of community spread in Iowa and our proximity to the Des Moines metro area where there is at least one confirmed case of COVID-19, Madison County Health Care System will be implementing additional precautions to protect the safety of our community, patients, and staff.

Effective Monday, March 16, all patients will be screened by medical staff prior to entering the facility. Well patients, sick patients without symptoms or risk factors for COVID-19, and sick patients with symptoms and risk factors for COVID-19 will be seen in different areas of our campus. Once you are screened by a member of our staff, you will be given instructions on what to do next.

Patients should be prepared for delays and we thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.

Patients should bring only essential caregivers with them. We strongly recommend any non-essential companions be left at home, especially children.

If you are experiencing symptoms including fever, cough, or shortness of breath and have recently traveled or been exposed to a known case of COVID-19, please call us at (515) 462-2950 before coming in.
