Growing
up in Pasadena, CA, Dr. David Laughrun had dreams of covering the Rose
Bowl as a sports reporter. His desire to pursue a medical career,
however, was stronger.
At UCLA, he switched
majors from journalism to biology, then went on to medical school at
George Washington University in Washington, DC. He then completed an
internship, residency and fellowship at UCLA and the West Los Angeles
Veterans Administration Medical Center before joining Iowa Heart Center
in 1996.
